NORDP 4th Annual Research Development Conference

May 21, 2012 - May 23, 2012

The Hilton Alexandria Mark Center, Virginia, U.S.

The National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP) is organized to develop and operate programs to facilitate research excellence and enable interdisciplinary research and collaborative partnerships designed to reduce the administrative and institutional barriers affecting scientific and scholarly research projects at non-profit research institutions nationwide.

The Annual NORDP Research Development Conference is a three-day event focused on understanding key trends in federal and private research funding and large-scale grant development by interdisciplinary research teams. Prominent keynote speakers will be present from several federal and private agencies, and breakout sessions will incorporate topics such as interdisciplinary faculty collaboration (i.e. case studies), proposal development and budgeting and communication strategies with top-tier funders.

The NORDP Annual Research Development Conference provides an opportunity for educational Research Development professionals to convene to support learning and professional development, enhance institutional research competitiveness, and catalyze new research and institutional collaborations.

BILAT-USA will contribute with its plenary session about "Trans-Atlantic Mobility without Borders" by increasing mutual understanding of current opportunities, strategies and trends in trans-Atlantic mobility for researchers. It will give an overview of instruments, career prospects, and recent trends in the migration of highly skilled labour, as well as recommendations for new strategies to address challenges related to trans-Atlantic mobility.
