NIH Grant Applications Over $1 Million to Undergo Additional Screening

Sep 21, 2012

The National Institutes of Health announced a new policy, to be implemented starting in September, that will require additional review of grant applications from investigators who already receive $1 million or more per year in direct costs from NIH awards.

This will not impose a cap on recipients’ funding, but is an additional screening as part of NIH’s efforts to reduce costs in the face of flat or decreasing budgets.
