The first formal request to set up an ERIC has been received by the European Commission on 20 December 2010. Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and The Netherlands have decided to join forces to build SHARE-ERIC, an infrastructure of micro data of households and individuals necessary to understand individual and societal ageing.
