Category

FP7 Project with U.S. partner

Short name and number

MIA-CP (234860)

Area

Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials & new production technologies

Description

This proposal details the preparation of novel electromechanical polymers based on mechanically interlocked molecules. These synthetic muscle-like fibres would function via entirely new mechanisms of actuation and have potential applications in the medical, engineering and nanotechnology sectors.

Participating Countries

United Kingdom and United States.

Name of US Partner

MASSACHUSSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MIT CORPORATION
