Short Profile Description

The Swedish Research Council is the largest Swedish funding agency for basic research at Swedish universities, colleges and institutes. We allocate around SEK 4 bn annually for top basic research in Sweden. We also function as research-political advisers to the Government and work on the long-term expansion of knowledge within analysis, strategy and the monitoring of research and research finance. In addition we set great store by research communication in order to increase awareness of research content and to improve communication between researchers and society in general.
